Josh's Bio

Josh and his wife, Serene, comprise the “Powers Team” at SerenePowers LLC. Utilizing a creative and data-driven approach to track market trends and find the perfect opportunity for the purchase of a primary residence or investment property, they are passionate about guiding clients through each step of the real estate acquisition or sales process. From procuring the right buyer, to helping buyers ascertain their buying power and identify the right balance between location, square footage, quality and price—they thrive at overcoming the unique challenges inherent in every transaction. “We are most rewarded when client satisfaction and trust lead to lasting relationships.” Josh joins SerenePowers LLC after many years in the philanthropic sector, where he worked as a Director of Finance & Administration, and later Director of Knowledge Management, for ABFE: A Philanthropic Partnership for Black Communities. He served as Assistant to the Chairman & CEO of the Edwin Gould Foundation, where he was a key player in the sale of foundation real estate assets in Manhattan and Westchester County, and helped coordinate the design and build-out of the The Nonprofit & Philanthropy and Thoreau Center for Sustainability—a green refurbished office condo located in the landmark J.P. Morgan Building across from the NYSE. He has also served as Assistant to the Trustees of Gramercy Park, New York City’s oldest private park, an historic landmark, where he was responsible for overseeing the annual lot-owner assessment and sales of coveted keys to the park’s 180-year-old cast iron gates. Prior to joining SerenePowers LLC, Josh worked for real estate brokers in Park Slope and Cobble Hill. Josh enjoys cooking and tango dancing, classical and shoegaze music. He loves rewatching Downton Abbey and the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He and his wife are active members of the Redeemer Presbyterian Church community. Josh received a B.A. in Hebrew from Hunter College, CUNY, with minors in Film and English Literature. He is certified in Not-For-Profit Accounting & Governmental Reporting from New York University, SPS. He is currently studying Mandarin Chinese.
